What is Nano-technology? Know its Benefits and Importance
Nanotechnology is one of the wonders of modern times. In the field of technology, within a few decades, so many unimaginable improvements have been possible due to nanotechnology. If you have good knowledge of technology, you will have heard the name of nanotechnology a lot. But many of us do not have a clear idea about what nanotechnology actually is.
What is Nanotechnology?
Molecules and atoms make up all matter around us. A few days ago, controlling molecules or atoms was unthinkable. But modern science has made the impossible possible. Man is now able to control Anu or Paramanu. It has become possible to create new things by controlling or para Manu. Nanotechnology works in much the same way as we build buildings by laying bricks. It is not visible to the naked eye as the structure is organized on a very small scale. They are organized 1000 times smaller than the microscope.
In the modern era, nanotechnology is being used in many things from technology to daily life. Many times we are using them without knowing about it. For example, our electronic devices are becoming increasingly powerful thanks to nanotechnology. It is possible to give much more processing power to small devices like mobiles as a result of this nanotechnology. Also, we are seeing nano technology being used in many other places every day.
Where is nanotechnology being used?
Nanotechnology has contributed to many things in our daily use. Now we will know about several things where nanotechnology is being used regularly.
Furniture: Just like fabric, furniture is waterproofed with a special nano-technology coating. Apart from this, the furniture is durable for a long time. Furniture can be made up to 35% less flammable using nanotechnology. As a result, it cannot catch fire easily.
Sunscreen: Nanoparticles are regularly used in the sunscreens we use. There are many types of nanoparticles. Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are mainly used in sunscreen. They are very effective in blocking the powerful ultraviolet rays from sunlight. Besides, these nanoparticles are very light and do not need to be applied thickly on the screen like the sunscreen of the previous era. Modern sunscreens, therefore, work like normal creams.
Fabrics: Nanoparticles are regularly used in fabrics these days. Nanoparticles are mainly used to waterproof fabrics. A substance called silica is incorporated into ordinary fabrics. As a result, any liquid does not stick to the cloth. We regularly see its use in raincoats or waterproof cloth bags.
