Get Rid of Neck Pain with Home Remedies

Many people have suffered from this problem of sudden severe pain on one side of the neck after waking up, or sudden strong tension on one side of the neck while working, unable to rotate the neck at all.




  • It is difficult to find people who have not developed neck pain problems. This is a common problem, especially in winter. Women suffer more from neck pain than men. If the neck pain is severe, consult a doctor. However, there are some home remedies that work to reduce neck pain.


    What Causes Neck Pain?


    1) Excessive use of the neck, such as working with the neck bent over a computer or smartphone for several hours. It causes tension and pain in the neck muscles.


    2) Like other joints in the body, neck joints also deteriorate with age. . Then there is the formation of small bones, which restrict the movement of the joint and cause pain.


    3) The small bone fragments between the displaced vertebrae of the neck press on the branches of the nerves coming out of the spinal cord, resulting in neck pain.





    4) If another car hits you from behind while sitting in a car, the head jerks back, causing tension and pain in the soft tissues of the neck.


    5) Certain diseases can cause neck pain, such as rheumatoid arthritis, meningitis, or cancer.

     

    What to do if Severe Neck Pain?


    1. Exercise:




    Do some exercises to reduce neck pain. This will make the neck muscles flexible and stronger. For this, first, tilt your head back and forth. After doing this 5 times, turn your head to the right once. Then turn left.


    2. Apple Cider Vinegar:



    Apple cider vinegar is a great home remedy for neck pain and stiffness. The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agents present in apple cider vinegar can reduce neck pain. For this, mix apple cider vinegar and a little water. Soak a cloth in it and keep it on the neck pain for an hour.

    3. Massage Therapy


    Massage therapy can cure any pain in the body as well as help you sleep better. May stimulate blood flow and increase muscle performance. For this, heat a tablespoon of oil and massage it on the neck. But do not rub any injured area if there is excessive pain.

    4. Ice Pack:


    Ice is great for reducing muscle inflammation. Applying an ice pack increases vasodilation of the skin, which helps cool the blood flow back to the neck muscles. For this first place the ice cubes in the towel and place it on the neck. Leave it for a few minutes.

    5. Ginger:




    Ginger contains anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants. It reduces pain and helps increase blood circulation. Cut ginger. Then boil two/three pieces of ginger in two cups of water. Add honey to it and drink it.


    Special Precautions:


    Change some daily habits to prevent neck pain. For example:


    • When you stand or sit, keep your neck straight.
    • If traveling a long way, or working on a computer for a long time, stand up, walk, and stretch your neck occasionally.
    • Make sure that it does not stick between the ear and shoulder while talking on the phone.
    • If a smoker, quit smoking today. Smoking increases the risk of shoulder pain.
    • Do not carry bags with straps on the shoulder. The weight of the bag puts strain on the neck and increases the pain.
    • Sleep in such a way that the head and neck are in the same line with the body. Place a small pillow under the neck.
