Here are short descriptions of the Immunology tests:
71. Dengue Antibody IgM and IgG
- Description: The Dengue IgM and IgG antibody tests are serological tests used to detect antibodies produced by the immune system in response to a Dengue virus infection. IgM antibodies typically indicate a recent infection, while IgG antibodies suggest past infection or immunity.
- Normal Range:
- IgM: Negative or undetectable in healthy individuals.
- IgG: Negative or low levels indicate no previous exposure; positive suggests past infection or immunity.
72. Dengue NS1 Antigen (NS1 Ag)
- Description: The Dengue NS1 antigen test detects the presence of the NS1 protein from the Dengue virus, which is typically present in the blood during the early stages of the infection. It is used for the early diagnosis of dengue fever before antibodies appear.
- Normal Range: Negative (non-reactive); a positive result indicates active Dengue infection.
73. DHEA-Sulfate (DHEA-SO4)
- Description: Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-SO4) is a hormone produced primarily by the adrenal glands and is an important marker for adrenal function. It’s often measured to evaluate adrenal gland function or to help diagnose adrenal gland disorders.
- Normal Range:
- Men: 80–560 µg/dL (varies with age)
- Women: 35–430 µg/dL (varies with age)
74. Digoxin Level
- Description: Digoxin is a medication commonly used to treat heart conditions, such as atrial fibrillation or heart failure. This test measures the concentration of digoxin in the blood to ensure it stays within a therapeutic range, as both low and high levels can be harmful.
- Normal Range: 0.5–2.0 ng/mL; values above this range could indicate toxicity, while values below may be insufficient for therapeutic effect.
75. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT)
- Description: Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen hormone derived from testosterone and is involved in the development of male characteristics. Testing DHT levels is helpful for evaluating androgen disorders or conditions such as hair loss or prostate issues.
- Normal Range:
- Men: 30–85 ng/dL
- Women: 3–30 ng/dL
